History

2003: NiBI was founded in Stockholm, Sweden, by Nils Björkman as engineering services for mechanical and electrical appliances.
2004: NiBI’s first product was ready, a small electric church bell.
2011: NiBI developed an electric candle holder, with four candles designed as telescopic pipes, so that the length of the candles could be adjusted. This project was supported by KTH Innovation.
2012: NiBI experimenting with hydroponic concepts, with the aim to develop a simple, elegant product.
2015: HyperGarden hydroponic flower pot was launched.
2016: The production of HyperGarden was discontinued. NiBI took a new focus on developing heliostat designs.

Nils Björkmans Industrier is currently a one-man private company operated on part-time.

2014: Graduated from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden.
Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering / Machine Design. Master’s Thesis: Heliostat Design, written at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.
2011: Bachelor’s degree in applied Mechanical engineering (KTH Södertälje)
2011: Mechanical engineering exchange studies at Hochschule Luzern, Schweiz. (1 year).
Bachelor’s thesis: Design of a casing for a packing machine, for Packsys Global Ltd. Oberburg, Schweiz.
Design project: Design of a lamp with acoustic damping properties, for Milani Design, Thalwil, Schweiz.
